Run a resort end to end - the team, the standard and the season's numbers.
The job
A Peak resort director runs their resort. The team, the teaching standard, the relationships in the valley and the season’s numbers all sit with you.
The hardest part is not the schedule. It is holding a standard - having the conversation with an instructor whose lessons have gone flat, and having it early and well enough that they get better instead of leaving.
What you own
Your instructor team is yours: who you recruit, how you brief them, how they develop. You have the final call on safety and terrain in your resort. You work with bookings on the schedule rather than receiving it. And you carry your resort’s commercial performance, with the numbers shared openly and the authority to do something about them.
The team around you
You join a small leadership group - the other resort directors, the bookings manager, and the founders. It meets often, argues honestly and moves fast. Peak is British-owned and family-run; there is no head office three countries away.
Where it leads
Peak is building beyond the ski school - the GAP course, ski camps, and SkiOperator, the booking platform we build ourselves. People who run a resort well here end up shaping those too.

What you'd actually do.
- Lead the instructor team in your resort - recruitment, briefing, mentoring, standards
- Own the resort's teaching quality and step in when it slips
- Work with bookings to build a schedule that is deliverable, not just sellable
- Hold the safety call - terrain, weather, incidents, and the paperwork after
- Own your resort's numbers with the leadership team and act on them
- Build local relationships - lift company, hotels, chalet operators, partner schools
- Sit on the leadership team and help decide where Peak goes next
The basics.
Essential
- BASI Level 3 or above, or equivalent, with a French Carte Professionnelle
- Several seasons instructing, including experience leading other instructors
- Fluent English
- Working French - you will be dealing with the lift company and local partners
- Calm under pressure and straight with people, including when it is awkward
Nice to have
- BASI Level 4
- Prior ski school management or head coach experience
- Portes du Soleil knowledge
- A commercial head - reading a P&L should not frighten you
