I first put skis on in the garden of the l’Outa crèche in Morzine when I was a teeny tot, and I haven’t really looked back since. The Portes du Soleil — particularly Les Gets, Morzine and Avoriaz — is very much home for me. I’ve been lucky enough to teach skiing in Switzerland, Spain, South America, Japan and New Zealand, and I’m still biased to this area.

Three likes: Food, dogs (especially puppies), being outside. Three dislikes: Poor communication, when technology doesn’t work, Bloody Marys. Favourite bit of ski kit: My heated socks. Top tip: Always remember that skiing is supposed to be fun.

I got into skiing a little later than most, but it’s become my favourite sport. I’ve enjoyed teaching it for over 10 years and feel very lucky to be able to pass on my enthusiasm to all ages and abilities — in some really beautiful places. Sharing those experiences is a big part of why I enjoy it so much.

I studied sport science at Bangor University, and since then I’ve made my home for the winter in the Alps teaching skiing, and in Pembrokeshire in the summer trying to spend as much time outside with friends as I can. I’m a calm and patient person and I adapt my teaching to suit each client — hopefully resulting in good times for all.

Three likes: Peanut butter and jam sandwiches, snow, most things with two wheels. Three dislikes: Mushrooms, wet wetsuits, freezing feet. Favourite bit of ski kit: Insulated shorts and my Mammut Barryvox avalanche transceiver. Top tip: Take your time finding comfortable ski boots. If you’re in discomfort, it’s very difficult to have a good time.
